The Hallowman is responsible for the eternal night, which is implied to be caused by the structure seen in page 2200. If you look at the top of the Planels in this and Page 2556 it seems The Pillars hold up something, most likely the structure.
So what he has seen is most likely everything inside and under his lair, and since there are eyeballs on it everything above the fog as well.
Maybe the Hallowman even dispatched those flying nightmares back on the roof?
