I bet she gave Burk info and/or some kind of weapon or trick so Burk can easy deal with Vonesperda.

So the theory we're running here is that Burk is an esper, who most likely can't do the "traditional" ranged spirit disruption, but instead can do it with his fists - a "melee esper", if you will.
Now, in Toby's storyline, there is a certain paladin esper named Shahlia, and somebody a few pages back asked why didn't we see her mess with anyone's magic. Partially this could be because she didn't really have any reason to, but then I thought...
What if being able to disrupt spirit at range is not actually that common of an esper ability? We've only seen Evyle and Noel do it - that's a pretty small sample size. Mr. Mittens can do it with a beam but that seems less versatile to me?
So maybe melee espers aren't that rare, and Shahlia is also one. She does seem to be pretty comfortable in a brawl.

I'm still thinking the sight is not specifically an esper specific ability, though Vonny does seem to imply I'm wrong here. I'm not sure why the Paladin powers would be needed if the Paladin was an esper, since she specifically can't use them against nonmagic people. I'm am always prepared to be wrong, but I'm not convinced yet on the Paladin and especially not on Burk.

I said before, Burk didn't know the cat was possessed. It seems more like he just recognizes the voice. But then Evylle didn't know either until she found out it could talk, so assuming sight is a specific Esper ability, it doesn't necessarily reveal possession. We also have no idea why Burk wanted to look for talking cats in the first place.
burk's power is ignorant limitation transcendence. he doesn't have to know specifics - and in fact, the less he knows, the better. all he has to know for sure is that he can win, and that's why he does

Burk's shoulder Burks look a lot like the blue bull guy, who looked completely human until his meat body was slain. I think it's noteworthy that most pandemonium spirits and the invulnerable bull guy have two horns or horn-like projections, like Vonespera's hair here, while ghouls all have one horn.
