You'd be surprised.

Silverman definitely is!

Burk never once dodged the bullet, did he?

Also, Goldman seems to have a rather limited repertoire.

Winning by time-out, smart of Burk.

I'm fairly certain that Silverman's realised that Goldman's Golden Bullet is hitting, but not affecting, Burk. Now the question is, does Minicha counts that as a "Clean Hit" or not, as it is completely ineffective.

@Darius : that brings the question of the Golden Bullet...does striking a spirit wielding enemy with it uses the target's spirit to do damage? So completely useless against a non-spirit wielder?

22629: Liack - Friday, July 10 2020 - 7:43 AM

@Tom I guess he'd need at least one clean hit...though I suppose he could default to crowd judges...

Silverman just realized that there are no golden bullets for Burk.

is that headset Wurm wears able to muffle what he is hearing/seeing?
it looks like it fully covers his ears, and Wurm may need to muffle one set of senses to focus more fully on his worms.

@A Loquacious Theorizer It's also possible he's blind and deaf already, and that his hair (Which happens to look rather similar to his worms) is actually where he's getting all his senses from. Just giving a crazy possibility.

There clearly is something off about Burk. He seems as confused about why the Golden Bullet isnt doing anything to him, as Goldman is.

@ Liack: That actually sounds like an accurate description of what we have seen the Golden Bullet do. It seemed to forcefully separate the person hit from their Spirit for a moment, knocking them out as a side effect of their Spirit being hit, separated from them, and then returned in rapid succession. It would, thus, be useless against anyone without any Spirit, which would be some Pandemonium and possibly most to all Free Magic Users.

@Darius Drake: I'm noticing this a lot in the comments - please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all magic users had *access* to spirit magic? Those with Spirit Potential tend to be more skilled with it and have a higher skill ceiling, but all Pandemonium users should be able to learn it, with varying degrees of difficulty *cough cough Felix*, and I get the impression Free Magic users can learn it, but generally don't bother because their Free Magic is inherently more powerful and versatile - although that tends to lead to them being overconfident and bad at actual combat.

TL;DR I thought all magic was manifestations of the same basic thing and spirit magic is simply learning how to use that manifestation in certain ways. Golden Bullet should work against all magic users since there's no inherent lack of spirit, just familiarity in how to exercise those particular magic "muscles".

@Darius Drake I'd say a hit has to do damage to count. Consider if you block an attack with your arm - the attack that hits your arm doesn't count, because it didn't hurt you, even if it did "hit" you.

22652: Cluedrew - Saturday, July 11 2020 - 4:24 PM

@The_Squished_Elf: That lines up with what I remember as well. Assuming Golden Bullet does target your magic somehow it would likely work against all magic users. And potentially anyone with particular magical potential even if they aren't trained.

My main problem with the theory is that it would me Goldman has never attacked anyone without magic before, not even a goon rushing him on a mission. It seems unlikely.
