the point of all of this is still viewers right? so who is watching? rich people? normal people? i gots to know

Im no longer certain the point of it is viewers. I suspect its more a social experiment.

There's a floor in their explanation.

Well, goodbye random guys. We hardly knew ye.

Err... it if permitted to use magic? I don't know if fox lady transformation is magic but the paladin freaky powers definitely are. It would be too easy to the paladin to just spawn a few minions and kill the other players...

The paladin's powers have a *built-in* limit against being used against muggles (see: http://www.neorice.com/hoh_tobi_996). I doubt that's something Mr. Smile would even be capable of removing. So, the paladin will have to kill the other two with her bare hands. I'm sure she's capable of it...

I do wonder why a "clean cop" is playing a twisted game like this.

I dont think the floor will have much relevance in this case. The Paladin has so far shown a moderately Paladin like attitude. Only killing the thug directly waving a knife in her face.

The first challenge: How not to die

She came for Three (and maybe for Tobi), doubtful she cares about actual game.

Let the bodies hit the....FLOOOOOOOR!

I suspect this pairing is deliberate when they supplanted the previous entrant with the Paladin. A thug and a good cop deliberately placed together, and the leash let off of the thug.

With no other recourse, the Paladin will very likely have to kill the Thug (at least in Smile Corp's rationale), breaking the ice so to speak.

It's a known phenomena that individuals that are forced into performing an act perceived as unsavory and not punished - and instead rewarded - are more likely to repeat that unsavory act of their own volition with a progressively lower threshold provided the rewards continue and no punishment is received. CURSE YOU, PAVLOV!

Wait...is Smile Corp basically this universe's equivalent of Pavlov?
