Poor Ciel, her suggestions always rejected.
Welp, Noah, good job painting a target on your own back. I don't think you could've done a better job at becoming the incidental tank for the next incident by holding up a bright neon "Kick Me" sign.
I kinda love this, even if it's not the primary reading:
Illusion kid: Every other time somebody has been in your situation, they've gone on a psychopathic rampage.
Ciel: No worries. Noah is such a black hole of fun that I can't even get CLOSE to the 'turn evil' part.
So is "cursed" just a metaphor, or...?
Awh, c'mon, Noah. Thatguyagain just told you about his ability to see spirits, you could actually show him the courtesy of returning the gesture... I mean, there's no actual reason for you to it; you already knew that he could see spirits, so it's not like him revealing that it's an ability of his eyes is a major revelation -- it's honestly even less informative than you telling him that Ciel (still) obeys you -- but still...
Chameon: I guess it could work either way... maybe if you think someone has an unknown power that their evil sentient spirit wants them to use but they call "awful" and are holding back from, then you don't want to provoke them into using it.
Meanwhile, this does represent a change in direction from where I thought things were going. I was feeling like this was about Noah learning to trust and use his abilities and play a more active role in the world, leading towards him using his power (perhaps initially on a cooperating target like Gazz) and finding that it is fine.
But here his mistrust is reaffirmed.
"Without exception", huh? Unfortunately, this still doesn't give us enough info.
Personally i don't think we've seen anything that should lead us to conclude Ciel is evil.
I don't know where those other spirits he mentions come from, but Noah's is a part of his unique power... So he should be fine, right?
Yeah, your victims kind of need to be willing to go anywhere for you to lead them down a dark path. Ciel is still working on that part.
Ciel saying that Noah is not willing to let her manipulate him doesn't mean she isn't trying to do so... o.o
Well you've just admitted you've only seen a handful of them, so your sample size is too small to be statistically significant.
Where has this guy been that he's seen multiple spirits? Enough to distinguish that sentient spirits are rare yet still encounter a handful of them, and be around them long enough to see their effect on others? If they're created by magic (an assumption) then the Empire seems like an unlikely place...
Wait, so is Ciel some sanitized version of Noah's Id or Shadow? She's all the things he repressed, but he's so repressed that even when she's out, he still doesn't listen unless it's a genuinely good idea.
is it just me or ciel's text boxes are in 2 different shade of blue.
Seems to me he can only see her. I dont think he hears her.
@Pheristroch well maybe while sentient spirits are rare, the regular ones are quite common? Or maybe he's talking about human spirits, the ghosts that pilot our bodies? Then he could see as many of them as he liked.
And that would explain why he wasn't detected by Ciel back in http://www.neorice.com/hoh_noah_1293 or http://www.neorice.com/hoh_noah_1294 - his own spirit tried to rebel, and was exorcised or bound quite tightly.
Remember that this is an enemy. While "spirits are the greater threat to us both" is a valid position, he could just be exploiting that Ciel has a slightly alien mindset to cast doubt upon a genuinely helpful entity and disrupt a positive relationship. Yes, Ciel is creepy, but has she ever actually done any harm?
So Noah's gut feeling about his power was right after all...
You know, until now I was operating on the assumption that Ciel wasn't a truly sentient separate being, but a mental/magical construct formed by Noah's power to act as an interface, with an AI personality mostly powered by Noah's subconscious. Glasses here clearly thinks otherwise, and the fact that she refers to herself as a "being" here seems to confirm his assumptions.
Ooooh, the way Ciel is reacting really makes me begin to think she is more than just part of Noah's mind...
