I wonder - is that a hallucination/illusion of magical origin, or...
It wouldn't shock me if that's a wholly mundane hallucination caused by external triggers - or that she thinks it is. "No, fuck this" is too chill for an actual threat, but regardless of origin, she's probably had hallucinations like these before.

The filter is the same as the one that happened during the future visions. So: The machine is not actually currently activated, but will be later.

@Darius I'm pretty sure it was mentioned when they came to this room that there were multiple other rooms with similar switches. Tobi's room had - before maybe!Heusten showed up - red/tan/orange flooring (I'm bad at colors, but I think it was red) so I'm pretty sure she was in a different room - but with machinery that had similar functionality. (Also, we know she entered that room after Jay's disqualification was announced, and the machinery was not running at the time - the lights were off.)
