So the answer to last page's burning question of whether Burk would confirm or deny being an esper turned out to be that he did neither, as he ignored the question entirely and let the hero - and readers - to believe what they will.

It's weird that this guy is obsessed so much with the concept of honor but is at the same time hopelessly ignorant of the evil doing of his superiors.

Of course, if he wasn't, he would not be there since this is a quality they obviously won't go for - but it's weird combination of personality traits.

We met a lot of sore losers in Heroland. Winn is not. Good for him.

So it will be Winn's swordsmanship vs. Burk's swordsmanship, I see.

Rather than being honor obsessed in the actual sense of the word, his focus is on the "warrior" part. He doesn't want complicated things like politics or deception, just straightforward battles. Not that it's much better.

but as a story, its cool to see that the cast of heroes have so varied standards.

And here we see a foolish man fundamentally misunderstand Burk's true lesson:
He should focus on his muscles instead.
Buffness is the key to true power.

Asking Burk if he likes highly visible muscles is like asking a Body Builder if they like highly visible muscles. The answer is obviously, yes, because they couldn't look like they do otherwise.

Seriously, Body-Builders half-starve themselves and do training that only makes their muscles more obvious. Particularly around the gut, because that's how you get highly defined six-packs.
