Still not sure how clever Burk is; he asked an unexpected question that sounds dumb on the surface, but he could learn much of the answer: If this guy doesn't burn random stuff in the room, he definitely wanted to burn the conspiracy diagram on purpose, which means that this guy is team evil.

Burk has decent 'bad guy radar' I'm guessing he recognizes that what Hero Hunter is doing, marks him as a bad guy, but Burk is just gauging how hard he needs to hit him.
