Did he grow a beard or is it just the shadow? I mean, the shadow explanation seem more likely but I would buy accelerated aging as a result of whatever it was that happened.

@Joe I think the number of comments in the counter increments as soon as one is made, but the comments all need to be manually approved before being displayed, so if you look at the page in between a comment being made and a comment being approved, the counter is higher than the number of comments. Right now for me the page says Comments (9) but I can only see 5 of them.

@Welf I think the bubble is the same type of shield Noah has been using in his arc, Valiant shielded himself from the explosion.

That is the same technique Noah uses since page 2216.

However, that should have been a poor choice. If the explosion comes from kicking the Obelisk, a bubble would only contain the explosion inside the bubble, not deflect it.
