Good for you, Noah. Fighting your intense and instinctive hatred of human contact to resolve the more important situation.

This is torturing me. There is no outright individual element that makes me distrust Chernyl as a character, but the whole situation is so incredibly suspicious, I just wonder how catastrophic the twist is going to be.

Now this is anxiety! However I’m still waiting for the Ginormous Twist cause there’s no way this works out this well.

Noah realizing he actually has to physically touch a stranger is probably what he will remember as the most traumatic part of the whole journey.

Everyone's been through so much that I'm not sure it would feel right if it continued to get worse.

It is not going to get worse, we have less than 10 days of daily updates remaining. This plot ark is going to end. I hope we get some hints (or even better, a concrete information) into how the three stories are connected.

Also, I am quite sure "The Dream" @Flairina recalled a couple pages ago (pages 2001 and 2145) is where they are now. The "never seem the same after" part will certainly affect Noah. Will he stop being so socially awkward after that?

Yknow it does make perfect sense for Chernyl to follow through with the dream logic at this point. Shes gone through so much that I can buy she kinda just goes with the flow at this point.

It’s the body type though… all the thin lanky bodies so far have been trouble, or part of Tobis death game and so potential trouble…

So my pattern recognition is like. Aha! Evil! You cant fool me!

Chernyl said this dream is very important to her and presumably left her with an unhealthy fixation on Noah. But the location itself should be harmless.

One thing I don't understand - how could leaving the dreamscape help? I mind, they would land near the big nightmare incarnated, why wouldn't it try to do something to them (incapacitate the girl, kill the boy)? Does just waking her would make the nightmares disappear?

If so, why was there the plan to use black crystal, for example? It wouldn't be needed, if waking Chernyl up was the only thing required.

Let's see if I remember everything correctly...

While Chernyl is sleeping her pandemonium power goes haywire and spawns nightmares. Normally they can only survive in darkness but there is a supernatural fog covering Haven right now making waiting for daylight very foolish.

When Chernyl wakes up the nightmares will still be there, but no more will spawn. That's why Noel and Nail prioritized disrupting her power with either black crystal or Noel's ability. Because that would both lead to any active nightmares disappearing and prevent any more from spawning.

But when they leave the dreamscape now, Noah's wish for Chernyl to have control over her power will come into effect. She should be able to do so instinctively, making all nightmares go *poof*. Even if the Hallowman manages to incapacitate her immediately it doesn't matter. Because it's just a question of "stopping" using magic. She can do that awake and sleeping (or dead) now, as per the wish for getting control.

@Saiko: leaving dreamscape will make Noah's wish to fulfill - that is part of his power.

As to the other part of your question, I assume nobody in the Empire, including Veda and co really knew how exactly Chernyl's power works, only that it is powerful and summons nightmares. So they wanted to capture her and figure out the details later. Black crystal was the most powerful anti-magic they had so they brought it along. We can see that they were dealing with the unknown in that they aimed at having multiple options open: black crystal, esper, magic kids, regular soldiers, royal guards, red mushroom bombs...

I will laugh very hard if Chernyl falls into the real world and is Burk.

@ Zyzyzyryxy: Well, we know that Burk's story is before Tobi's story, due to page 955 referencing the Eddstadt Incident, which is what Burk's story is currently creating. Noah's Story is at an unknown period, but my assumption is that it's before Burk's, and will end up responsible for Guy Juliet being outside of Justopea during Burk's Story. I can't see a reasonable explanation for him being outside of the country otherwise.

@Zyzyzyryxy: I also forgot to mention in my previous post that Guy Juliet talks to a "Miss V" on page 666, making it likely that, so long as Miss Veda is still alive at this time in Noah's Story, that Noah's Story is before Burk's.

Darius Drake. Guy Juliet is in both Noah and Burk's story and more or less leaves Noah to go to Heroland to follow-up on a hunch of some sort. Noah's story is unlikely to be a cause of Burk's (at least directly) with out time travel shenanigans.
