@Mohegan She used two at once on page 3162, not to mention a couple other places. More likely, the flower was fragile and got destroyed by the area damage.

Normally, Burk does a great job of judging an attack in advance. Just look at his entire fight with Winn. He can tell he has to dodge the soundwave strike unlike all the others, and he comments on the sword's sharpness despite not having seen it cut anything.

I wonder if Burk is playing Your Only Move Is Hustle. He gets to play out the next "turn" dozens of times before actually doing it, so he gets to see what would happen if he didn't dodge.

This would explain his comment on page 673 about how he already beat Moe the Shifter in his mind. In the simulation, it only took one punch, and the only reason Burk bragged about it rather than actually doing it was he wasn't allowed to fight in the castle. (Once out of the castle, it really did take only a single punch.) It could also explain page 898, where Burk seemingly knew in advance that Pablo would try to grab the amulet, and that doing so would turn out badly.

In that case, Burk's weakness is that the simulation has a time limit. So if an attack only does damage after a delay, he'll assume it does nothing at all, and willingly take the damage.

I think the only weakness of Burk's that has been revealed in the comic so far is people who are way buffer and tougher than he is (see: the guy who transformed into a stone golem). But massive continuous non-spirit-based AoE damage could probably take him down as well.

My hypothesis that Burk is possessed might be gaining some weight if he reacts to that kind of damage as our Leech friend did to reacting to rib and tooth destruction...

Vonniesmith: I Don't want to miss a thing

Saw this and was reminded of a different comic and how certain enemies where protected from everything but sonic to even mentally sticking the speech bubble going Sonic! Above mortys head.

Found out by sheer coincidence that today marks 1 year since I've started reading HOH. Just thought to share it because why not, but then remembered something to comment that doesn't really fit anywhere. The name of the comic itself stroke me as odd, but in the grand scheme it made sense. Burk is, well... Burk (as one can see above). Tobi's mere nature put her above the rest with her 'ghoul nobility' and puzzle menace skills. Then we have Noah, who comically has almost nothing going on for him (by his own will, but still). Considering the order the stories are shown, we point at Burk and say 'Hero', point at Noah and go 'Oh' then to Tobi: 'Hero!' (the exclamation mark is because she is a videogame hero at first).
It's like a meta title drop

But a mere bluff

As we saw in 2274-2277 audio based attacks CAN effect Burk, though I think it's time for another face punch.
