Guy has proven to have many years of detective/police work in his resumè, so I doubt it's anything over the top that spans his entire lifetime.

Him being a royal guard would be strange given the empire's penchant for wanting secrets to stay locked up, while he's now effectively investigating them.

Maybe Guy is an undercover Black Star hero. Hard to say what he *couldn't* be, all told - he's shown up a fair amount, but we still don't know much about him.

Come to think of it, scratch that. Assuming the Black Star heroes are subject to the contracts as well, and assuming they never expire and are impossible to remove, any sort of hero is likely right out. So... Guy, secretly on the 10 most wanted criminals list? It has to be someone that Illuani would immediately recognize the name or reputation of, I'd assume. I don't really know; even with multiple rereads this comic has a LOT of lore and referenced characters to keep in mind. ^^;

Considering they want answers instead of just arresting or killing Pablo. I believe he will be able to talk his way out juuuuuust fiiiiiiine.

We haven't gotten every list of famous people out there. It's entirely possible what he said was "I'm Guy Juliet" and Pablo doesn't know the particular underworld that name strikes fear in.
Though... I suspect it's something more dramatic.

Guy is the most famous detective of a Magic Hating Country that has actually developed physical fighters who can fight evenly with Magic User's even without using gold to neutralize their magic. Like, commoner's who don't gossip or like people (aka Noah) know of him. If he DOESN'T have an international reputation in the crime scene, it would be more surprising.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he received Royal Guard training, either from a parent or just the standard child-raising method, only to end up not being a Royal Guard.

And while obviously our GigaChad guy's true identity is the hot topic, last panel just made me realise we have a case of schrodinger's cat!
Think about it: Pablo has to convince these heros of the contract conspiracy and the fact they are involved in it, without revealing the text itself because 1) the contract binds them to not go against heroland, and not knowing it may be the only loophole.
2) can't risk opening the box and the cat run away or disappear untill they are sure if is safe.

And thus, the quantum game begins :D
