Yeah, I noticed that too, but then I reasoned that they effectively turned around between coming upstairs and Number 2 coming to a decision about the blood (considering Noah is facing the wall when he points it out).
While it's still unnatural to flip their mental perception of the floor's layout that quickly, I don't think it's completely suspension-breaking.
