Hello Neorice
18120: Tom - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 2:49 AM
So in this world "wizards" are Free Magic users with spellbooks in order to save energy?
That's awesome.
18121: TheMegax - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 3:00 AM
Hello you're Neorice.
18122: Dad - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 3:19 AM
Hello, I'm Dad.
18123: Agent Cook - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 3:20 AM
So vancian magic is made so D&D casters can break reality on a regular basis without passing out every 5 minutes? Huh, never thought of that
18124: Conchord - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 4:40 AM
Cue a Free Magic user covered in tattoos that function as his/ her 'spellbook'.
18125: Chillas - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 5:01 AM
Neorice you're hello
18126: Duped - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 5:47 AM

18128: Alcemon - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 8:13 AM
Very interesting, getting some HxH self-limiting abilities vibes here

Ironically, the metagame for FREE magic users seems to be all about how they RESTRICT their powers to make them more widely usable
18130: Neoriceisgood - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 9:18 AM
@Conchord
No joke, I had a character with a very very similar concept to that at some point; albeit I decided to bin him. xD
18131: Some guy - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 10:53 AM
Feels to me like a lead-up to a reveal that Spirit and Pandemonium are really just unconcious self-restrictions.
18132: Brilliand - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 10:57 AM
So a Free Magic user can basically turn themselves into a Pandemonium magic user (limited to a narrow domain, negligible energy cost) if they like?
18133: King Random - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 6:16 PM
Will we ever see Melany and her grandpa again? I liked those two.
18134: Seb - Wednesday, August 22 2018 - 10:28 PM
Make senses. I'm looking where this is going. And it explains more things in Burks story. The mage baron feels more exceptional now.
And free magic also means a weakness against some extra pandemonium, like the Midas dude.
18135: Klaus - Thursday, August 23 2018 - 6:50 AM
@Brilliand: Speculation: Maybe being a "free" magic user, capable of imposing your own limits, comes at the cost of reproducing a naturally limited user's ability would give much weaker results.
Kind of like low-level vs high-level languages in programming.
