Burk, neither of you are dressed for fisticuffs. If you are not willing to do a mage fight then go find some suitable outfits.

While it might seem that Burk is just acting random and a bit out of character, this might be the best example that he is smart and just screwing with everyone: having a team member not aware of his strengh would be potentialy devastating for the team later, so a spar would show her what he can do. Also a strong opponent and Burk, so OBVIOUSLY they are going to fight.

And now he's randomly attacking teenaged girls. I hope his little thingy rots off, but not before he gets it stuck in a jar of hot peppers.
15995: Mousio - Monday, February 5 2018 - 3:20 AM
Well it's good to see burk is so progressive, he doesn't mind fighting women and children ^_^
And quite the selective memory I see -_-

"Let's fight" is just Burk for "Let's be friends".

@guest The only time Burk is truly dressed for fisticuffs is when he has no pants, you two have fun. Good luck piper.
15999: Silver - Monday, February 5 2018 - 4:45 AM
Wait, how will he fight her without pants to lose?
16000: MatthewTheLucky - Monday, February 5 2018 - 5:36 AM
@Whispers of Sorrow You need to chill about your dead pirate waifu.

Well... he still has his underpants, right?...

Burk: where logic does not exist but gets you the correct answer half the time anyways.
Working out problems in the group (here, showing Piper that he is worthy of being included) is important. However it remains to be seen if Burk is aware that he is doing that. It also remains to be seen if it will work.
In other words, I agree with D but I'm not sure even Burk is aware of how clever he can be.

I didn't think the initiative would come from Burk's side. He really longs for a mage trophy to put in his resume, does he not?
16007: Nitro - Monday, February 5 2018 - 6:48 PM
YES ! Piper, accept the offer ! ive been waiting for this !

Srsly Burk, proposing violence on underage girls while pantsless is a bit... yeah. Am I the only person who finds this icky?
16010: Chris E. - Tuesday, February 6 2018 - 12:06 AM
I hope they keep the fight reasonably 'safe'. The team does not need self-inflicted injuries.

If it brings you any comfort, Burk's not into girls anyway.
16012: MatthewTheLucky - Tuesday, February 6 2018 - 2:05 AM
@Neoriceisgood Is Burk ace?
16015: Storm - Tuesday, February 6 2018 - 7:40 AM
Sparring here does seem like a really good idea:
1. They should get to know how the other fights before facing villains.
2. The girl seems to underestimate non-magicians. She needs to understand that physical fighters like Burk can be threats to take seriously.
3. Burk's basic training method seems to be to fight any powerful individual he crosses, so it's good for him, too.
All that said, Burk's been pulling his punches, even when attacked, since Chapter 1. Plus given the video-game-like physics, it doesn't seem like there's much risk of him actually hurting her. She'll probably pull her punches at first, too, since she seems to think that Burk's weak.

@Neoriceisgood
Kinda figured Burk's character would be asexual, and that his reproduction mechanism would be something very Burk-like.
Like, maybe when a Burk reproduces, it does so by getting in a fight with an evil wizard who, when miscasting a spell during their epic clash, would accidently clone a younger version of Burk and cast that version to a random point in history.
The young-Burk-clone is then found by an adventurous, well-meaning type who adopts the young Burk into their family. Eventually, the young Burk grows into an adult Burk, finds an evil wizard, and the process repeats.

Please don't spoil things like that! The Burk reproduction method would have been such a good reveal in-story...
But that does present a problem. Burks have a natural tendency to drive evil wizards to extinction. Evil wizards are already rather rare. Even if it always seems like there are one or two around, there is almost never a full population. At the least you would need a full litter of Burks from every meeting. The Burks also need some way to inhibit their evil-wizard thwarting to allow the evil wizard population to replenish.
OH! That would explain the party-forming instinct! They can't go out thwarting evil wizards until they have gathered a heroic band, by which time the evil wizards have had plenty of time to propagate evil magic to produce more evil wizards...
They probably also tend to convert evil wizards from evil when possible. That would leave plenty of kindly mentors out there to train angst-ridden prodigies into a new generation of evil wizards...

This reminds me, we saw Pablo helping out during pirate of the storm battle and generally keeping a calm head. What types of situations does his diplomat training cover? They seem pretty broad given his easy going nature despite the scenarios he keeps getting up with Burk.
