Well it does look like its both of them going at it. Mr Aristocrat wants the guards to get out of the way, and Mr Guard Captain want the idiot to surrender.

You have an opponent whose weapon negates your attack and you have small fries that you can punch for meters. Solution punch small fries at sword guy.

He would be no trouble if only for his ability that gives you trouble.
