Oh well, no duel.
I wonder if the Aristocrat learned some humility with the help of these magic attacks of great destruction.
I love how she just looks like she's just taking her swords for a walk in the last few panels.
Oh man, Neo, that last panel is awesome! I didn't think that the art style allowed a more 3d panel with that amount of depth, but then you want and proved that wrong.
Also, the aristocrat just lurking in the background? Very sinister, me likey.
I do wonder what the aristocrat has planned(if anything). He basically came to the castle because he wants to fight Burk, but as I recall he demanded an audience with the Mage Baron when he confronted the General.
Did the ol' Aristocrat get magically healed by being crushed by a crumbling building?
Ah, well. Also, Ariara should consider not talking out loud when there's nobody there to listen. Moe might think she's crazy.
I think it's very interesting that Moe can pop that shield in his current state.
He can't seem to use his powers to attack at the moment. Though part of that may be because he is having a hard time doing anything more involved than gurgling at people.
Either this society has 'effin' as an insult, or Neo is simultaneously avoiding swearing while showing what a bad mouth this character has.
Either way, it breaks immersion a little. I would like one of two options: make up a word related to this world that the readers will come to recognize universally as swearing, or avoid swearing at all and use humourous insults (this is the Burk chapter, after all). I prefer the latter, but it's a lot more work.
Nice work on the art with this page, the dust is really well-done. The sound effects are nice too.
Neo is not avoiding swearing - the same lady mage was using words like "fuck" and "fuckin'", which as I understand are mild curses in English. She probably does use "effin" to show off, as if More isn't worth cussing over.
Actually "fuck" is amongst the harsher profanities in English (not the worst, but definitely one you would avoid using with kids or the elderly around).
Truly a sign of how evil this Ariara woman is.
@Author's note
Well, I wouldn't say evil. Just nonchalant as far as social etiquette.
@Author's note
Kinda weird to have an alias that suggests being the author.
Also, Ariara's choice didn't seem evil at all. Moe's an unrepentant serial murderer; having to finish him off would be a dirty job, but still noble.
If anything, it's kinda bad that Burk let Moe live. I'm guessing that Burk assumed the appropriate authorities would throw Moe back in the slammer, though that seems pretty risky.
