I wasn't commenting at that time, so I wasn't one of them. I didn't think that he would turn evil, though. His job's too solitary and low-key for him to turn evil without being killed. Particularly due to his apparent physical frailty.
There have already been evil men who kept their bargains in this story. Our junk man may be more of the same.

Less obvious answer #1: There's someone he doesn't like, and he's bringing Tobi to them so that they will catch hell from having her around instead of him.
He's already fulfilled his evil quota for the month, so he's slacking off.
