So, is this going to be like the Tomb Raider puzzle where anything that attacks their statues hurts them too?

I trust those crystals inside the statues are crucial to the puzzle.
I wonder when the statues morphed into copies of our protagonists; Sari's expression and outfit seem specifically chosen. Her expression when she first picked scout isn't quite like that.
This is where grudges are really going to be revealed.
