You know, with how paranoid every reader is about Levin, the likely twist here would be for this room to not be a trap in any way and for Levin to have been entirely and absolutely honest this whole time.
Instead, the actual trap will be sprung three chapters later, based on something nobody bothered asking him.

first of all they are not on rainbow tiles. At this point its not about rules and deception. It would be MURDER. So Levan is kinda using them for information and probably ralizes he doesn't want mutually assured destruction

@Some guy, Levin 100% knows more than he revealed so far. I don't believe that he would encouter some instructions and wouldn't just READ THE ENTIRE THING. He knew there were 7 million on the line, just not how to turn on the machine and what would happen if he did.
Now, he knows what happens, knows who he might lead to other machines, and can trap the only person who really knows and cares for the consequences. I don't think it's that far fetched that he would just trap Shalhia and Jay-jay in this room and try to lead Tobi - who's a little bit too trusting and ignorant for her own good - to one of the other ones.
