I know that people want Levin to die, but considering the fact that we have yet to see who he is working for or what is his motive, i would not took that gamble, it is like Dio Brando, you kill him and then you get Yoshikage Kira, Diavolo and Pucci right behind him just ready to cause some worse shit that he could ever do.

It's quite valuable to the right buyer... If somebody wanted to mine black crystal and didn't have the recipe for red elixir. Or just, didn't want to drain the blood of hundreds of pandemonium magic users.

I've been thinking for a few months that Smile's infiltrator is Levin himself, and that his way of acting is designed specifically to prevent anyone from suspecting him. Why suspect someone already suspicious? In the meantime he can still gather information without anyone asking questions about the real motivations, since they already think badly regardless (but for the wrong reasons)

So Black Crystal is actually not mined at all, it's synthesized. And probably doesn't occur naturally.

Okay, I'm doubling down here. He's explicitly asking the paladin what this weird, blood-like stuff is. I'm like, 99.9% certain that somehow, someway, Levin's win condition is legitimately dying. He wants to find, do, or ask something that's so blatantly bad that everyone else groups up and kills him in a way that is blatantly against the rules. I don't know what it is, I don't know how it is or why it is, maybe he's a mage with his magic legitimately just being an uno reverse card? I don't know. There's also the possibility there is no grand secret and Levin really is that much of heel, who got just enough skills to survive being a heel in Lorg for an extended period of time.
