This is my favorite web comic. I used to read a lot of them but they all started to drag on and go nowhere. Yours still stays interesting, keep up the good work.

We will avoid quibbling over the details of what 25 minutes might refer to and what acid might be...
"Filled" might refer to "being filled" or "is filled"?
I choose to believe that in 25 minutes the room's entire interior volume will possess a flesh-meltingly high Ph. I further choose to believe that it will attain this state sometime in advance of 25 minutes and will have started to increase its Ph well prior to that point.
So... will Tobi get out early and rescue someone else only to be later betrayed by them?

Acid means low pH. Though high pH (basic) is usually much more dangerous and flesh-eating.
If you want to dispose of body parts (I've never tried it with a whole body) then use a base (like NaOH), not acid. Acid will usually create scars or kind of crust on surface, which will limit further damage.
Of course, scars on surface of lungs will be as lethal as a lack of lung whatsoever.
Personally, I find deadly neurotoxin to be much more effective for timed puzzles. Less property damage.
