I went back to old Noah pages to see if we had any hint of him meeting Chernyl before, but found something else entirely:
292-298: noah in the elf's mind, seeks way back to his home, is disoriented about where he is. This feels very similar to the way Tobi feels after she found herself in Lorg.
Also, he enters by falling from the sky - the same way Burk started the story.

Did they all use the same power on someone's mind?

That would imply that the real world is what we saw at the beginning of Tobi's story and most of Noah's.

I have trouble with Burk's story then, because someone's mindscape would include a lot of places he visited. Maybe similar power allows to enter not only people's minds but also some shared mindscapes or different kinds of words?

I am starting to have doubts on this being the real Chernyl

So it seems pretty clear that this island came from "The Dream" spoken of in Tobi's section a couple times (2001 and 2145), given both its appearance (single tree on a small isle) and the "It's said that those who follow the instructions given to them in the dream either await a blessed existence or untold sorrow" tidbit Smile mentioned. That being said, the obvious assumption is that Chernyl is simply mistaking Noah for whoever the mysterious stranger that appears in this dream is. However, I can see two other possibilities:

-If Chernyl isn't mistaking Noah for someone else, that potentially implies that Noah is/will ultimately be the origin of this particular magic omen in the first place. His power *does* revolve around dreams, and with the lack of clear limits on his "wishes", there's no saying his power couldn't ripple back in time to create it, or that he couldn't at some point gain time travel of some sort. But...

-Chernyl's power *also* is exclusively dream focused, not to mention exceedingly powerful, and she notably looks somewhat similar to the person pictured on page 2001. Is there anything to say that *she* couldn't be the origin for this dream pervading the world/through time, or the stranger in question, and whoever originally helped her reach this dream was just what inspired its appearance?

Not sure if this even means anything relevant at the moment, just felt like putting these thoughts somewhere.

Also, on that subject, are there now any magic omens we haven't seen a direct example/result of yet? The storm of ships and the cyclops curse, I suppose, though that first one was presumably a one time event anyways. Intriguing either way.

I feel after this long it'd be super cheap if this was a "not actually Chernyl" fakeout.

Either she is mistaking him for someone else, or Noah is not remembering something. And given the sheer weirdness of his powers, I wouldn't rule the latter any time soon.

I think it's pretty reasonable to meet someone who's completely in denial.

@LuKo Yeah, I agree. The last time someone had a (creepy) crush on Noah, it didn't end very well.

Thank you for not taking the obvious and unnecessary conflict route and extending this story arc even further.

Ciel called noah "Minori" when they first met. I wonder if Chernyl would recognize that name...

Ah, right, add one more magic omen we haven't seen — the appearing/disappearing moon, which Smile didn't mention, but Zalander/the ghoul did. Possibly also a "cursed sea", but that only got a passing mention, and could have been obliquely referring to black water I suppose.
