@Dubu hold on a sec... Since basilisks petrify living creatures on sight, and blood is pretty much exclusive to living creatures, would't they just petrify the lake? Then again, they can only petrify things that look in their eyes, so... as long as they don't find an eyeball swimming in the blood, it should be fine?

While this is a very late comment I think @Dubu might be referring to the Basilisks in the Lake of Rot in Elden Ring, an area that looks pretty similar to this river of blood.
