There was first a green (Noah) Thud!, then Noel was no longer where he was before, then Legs arrived and kicked into thin air. Did Noah move Noel? Into the mist? With himself? - I think those legs need a good kick by Burk between them.

Wild guess: the fog was represented by the grinning person under the floor and behind the wall in the part I and II covers respectively, since I believe it is the only nightmare without a drawing? That and the lil secret agent man in the upper left of the part I cover.
