The poor nightmare! It just wanted a pat on the head. On the other hand, the explosion has surely deafened and blinded its flying cousins, which increases the operation's chance for success. Created a beacon? Well, yes, but when they are blinded, they cannot see it anyway, can they?

Interesting, that the red "appendages" (dripping blood?) apparently hanging from the nightmare do not really follow gravity but keep their position relative to the nightmare. There is even one droplet (?) which just stays at its position. Well, they are nightmares, who demanded them to have to follow physics? Do the nightmares in your dreams follow physics?

@Nighty Remember that this is a sprite comic. The blood not dripping at a realistic angle might just be a sacrifice made to keep the pages coming fast.
