Sorry readers no creepy nightmare for you.
The Imposition of Narrative Conservation suggests that they would not have captured this thing solely by virtue of being in the area that is under attack and possessing the means to catch it. It could merely be a ploy to make sending them the warning look more important, but I would expect that the capturing of the critter will be important later.
Or it might be breaking away from the trend in such media that dictates that packing in the most drama in the smallest space is more important than being unpredictable...
i was gonna guess that the nightmare would no longer be there, having vanished/evaporated
I'm okay with a little laziness if it means around a 500 page stockpile and chapter dumps
For once I'm PERFECTLY FINE with not knowing what it looks like.
(partly because I'm sure we'll get to see others)
WHAT IF THAT PAINTING IN THE BACKGROUND WAS THE TRUE NIGHTMARE ALL ALONG?!>!?>!?>??!??!!!?!?!
jk I just saw it and thought its eyes were moving and was really creeped out
Ciel once suggested that if Noah wanted to, he could give her a physical body and make them as real as the rest of them. ...that's what these nightmares are. Perhaps Noah has a power on par with Chernyl's.
At first I thought the nightmare is a chained up hellish sheep with no orifices visible (presumably until it wants to eat you), only later realized it is a shell made by Kimberly. My imagined nightmare was disturbing enough.
@giovannni: I don't think it evaporated. According to Noel, Chernyl's power actually creates the monsters as physical things. They're not spirit manifestations, they're real. That's why spirit-based attacks (like the spirit shredder or the time stop) don't work on them, while Kimberly's slime does work much better than it did on Catz's constructs.
@Saiko The true nightmares were the imaginations we developed along the way
Even though Burk seems like he's the strongest, I bet he'll be the third most dangerous member of our trio of heros by the end of this.
He'll always be the buffest though.
