Hurk.

... Well yeah, that was kind of bound to happen.

19982: Yobesboi - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:06 AM

This is why you don't do drugs kids.

19984: Tor - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:30 AM

Well we were told his magic was self destructive. I dont know if it is a pandemonian talent he has for charging his magic at the cost of internal injury.

19985: Bisected - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:46 AM

You are what you eat.

19986: Whispers of Sorrow - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:50 AM

Why was he grinning about it?

And yeah, I think we all saw this or something like it coming.

Reminder for those who theory:
It has been suggested (not stated) that the kids have had their magic artificially awakened.

Other reminder: Burk hath stated and the Judge has validated that artificially created magic uses don't end well.

See, this is the downside of FWNBB.
(Fighting while not being Burk)

His Anime was so strong it shortened his life.

19990: Aston - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 4:40 AM

Gazz, Self-Attack. Finished Friday. If he lives...?

19991: Some guy - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 4:42 AM

I guess he's out of adrenaline.

@Bisected
So he's not-blood, then? Throwing up is basically reverse eating, after all.

19992: Tor - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 6:54 AM

Yeah i still dont buy the artificial magic theory. The -only- thing that supports that is Gazz hurting himself when going overboard with his magic.

But that utterly fails to explain why the empire should bother with artificial magic users. When it could just stop killing its natural ones.

Or how its only Gazz who seems to have a health issue.

At the same time, the only confirmed artificial mage did not have these problems. He were just a little psycotic.

Its more likely that it is as we have been told. His magic is chaotic and self destructive.

19993: Violet - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 7:42 AM

I can't help but notice that this never happens to any of the other kids...

19994: Leo - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 11:23 AM

Yeah, Tor, I agree.
Multiple spirit fighters have referenced overusing spirit to be overly tiring or painful, especially the Aristocrat.

19995: nathan400 - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:05 PM

@Tor
It's not a lot of proof, but all the kids in school were fascinated by Alex's magic and the consequences there of. This indicates that Magic is a rare event in the Empire, the sort of thing that doesn't happen every day.

Second point, Alex, Felix, Noah, Gazz, and basically everyone else all got magic in just a few weeks time.

Third point (possibly wrong, needs more information) Alex and Noah both got seriously sickly before their magic manifested. This means something.

That said, this is loosely strung together intel at best at this point. Thing can change, and likely will.

19996: UnknownID - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 1:40 PM

Wow, Gazz you should go and see a doctor. o.o

19997: random - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 2:03 PM

To quote a line from another webcomic:

"I threw up. Threw up hit points."

19998: Potatopeelerkind - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 3:14 PM

@nathan400 Magic is also a rare thing everywhere else, it's just not illegal everywhere else. The town in the first chapter had no magic users- magic is obviously rare enough that the bandits could go around entirely unchallenged. Add to that the fact that magic users in the empire will probably keep it secret and it makes sense people in the Empire aren't that familiar with it.

We just happen to be focusing on all the people with cool powers so they seem more common than they are.

Do we know they all got magic in a few weeks? My impression was that Alex had magic for a long time, she just kept it on the down low. And I don't think there's anything suggesting otherwise for Felix and Gazz either, unless I've forgotten something.

I'm with Tor, I don't think there's enough evidence.

19999: almondsAndRain - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 5:29 PM

Gazz was not the only person to show physical side effects when using magic too much. Princess bled during the magiball session.

20000: someone - Thursday, June 6 2019 - 10:33 PM

RIP Gazz

He died as he lived, being the cool guy who doesn't really get it

20016: Paintr - Saturday, June 8 2019 - 10:16 PM

Well, if I remember correctly, the Aristocrat also had some magic overload issues as well. Maybe its the same sort of symptom as his.
