If Burk can hurt her with his punches, and normal non-magic punches don't even phase her, does that mean that Burk's punches are magical,and therefore are Burk's punches TOTALLY WIZARD!
12856: Samiibo - Wednesday, May 31 2017 - 12:37 AM
Nope. Burk's punches are 100% Burk.
12857: Tom - Wednesday, May 31 2017 - 1:21 AM
So Burk has some sort of hidden Spirit-breaking power? Interesting.
12858: 5 - Wednesday, May 31 2017 - 2:27 AM
Maybe Burk's punches work BECAUSE he's 100% non-magical ?
The ball in Noah's scenario was specially made to react strongly to Spirit. So I suppose that may mean some things react little to spirit.
Like Burk.
Or maybe it's because Burk is just THAT strong.
Similarly, I remember from that "temptress" side-comic that potions don't work on people with absolutely no no magic blood/ancestry

@Whispers
Well, if Spirit shielding didn't also protect what the user is wearing, we would have noticed by now.
12862: Zet - Wednesday, May 31 2017 - 5:16 AM
It would be funny if the Noah story arc is happening before Burk's story arc and the characters in Burk's arc are the pupils in Noah's story.
12863: Silver - Wednesday, May 31 2017 - 6:18 AM
@Zet I don't know. Guy (the detective) has appeared in both stories and he doesn't really look older.

For a team wizard, Pablo has surprisingly low understanding of magic.

Maybe he's a sorcerer, Saiko?
12868: Anonymous Person - Thursday, June 1 2017 - 10:03 AM
I've got it! Burk is anti-magic and doesn't even know.
12869: szmol - Thursday, June 1 2017 - 1:14 PM
Wait... @Anonymous Person's theory makes sense in a way. There was another theory about Burk being Erin's brother, and we know that she trained the royal guards, who are supposed to counter magic users.
12870: Storm - Thursday, June 1 2017 - 2:55 PM
Logan (the hero from Chapter 1) accused Burk of unlicensed heroing, which to which Burk responded he didn't care. And just a few strips back, Ariara said, "You're one of 'em heroes, aren't ya?", which Burk didn't so much deny as much as assert his own Burkiness over.
I'm guessing that they may've been right that Burk's a "hero", which seems to imply physical characteristics too (like Logan saying that "we [heroes]" get knocked out easily). Burk's strength is probably more related to this hero-power than the magic potential that Ariara and Noah's story arc has.
Dunno how heroes might be related to the powers people get in Tobi's arc. Tobi's grandfather seems to have been able to break some rules there, and Tobi herself is stupidly strong despite not knowing about magic in the sense of Noah's arc.
Long rant short - Burk's too awesome to need magic! Unless he has it, which he might, because he's awesome. And also Burk.

"I heard she's mostly wanted cause of her ship though."
At this rate, people might start shipping Ariara and Burk!

@szmol
That was a joke on the forums, just because they are drawn the exact same way. Burk states somewhere that he trained with 'his brother' (so your theory only works if Erin is transgender)

@Leo
They could still have a brother as a third sibling.
