The "Burk's sister/mother is the Justopean lady who shot the elf" theory continues to grow. he knows what a car is, he's talked about his sister being intense, and now his family puts him in a place where he doesn't need to be protected, but attempting to kill him directly could create complications.

I think it is more like they contain information about people Burk interacts with, relatives, training masters, adversaries, whatever. A file could be an "episode", an event that happened to Burk and it is being tracked. So no, it does not imply that there are more Burks out there.

That being said, it is very likely that there are several individuals the Heroland is actively keeping an eye on and creates files about, so in that sense, yes, there are more tracked "Burks" out there. (I assume Held could be one as they tried to recruit her caretaker at one point...)

Pet theory that Burk is the brother of Balthazar or whatever-his-name-is who "declared war on the world": +1 potential evidence

But... He isn't a nobody! He's Burk!

@ Welf: I suspect that Burk has siblings, and the file is about his family. And if his family IS related to one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world, as many of us were guessing after reading page 886, it makes sense that Heroland would not only have a file on them, but also want to avoid upsetting them.

Burk stated that his mother wore apron with insignia of one of the Wolrd's Super Powers, Oceanic Cartel.
And it's implied his sister is master thief or at least mater lockpicker.
Plus his brother is fighter or martial artist of some kind.

I will go out of limb and say that his father is someone high ranking from Heroland and if Burk's family ever becomes a well known it would be a sledgehammer to Heroland's reputation.

On a lighter note, we found out one thing interesting. Burk is related to somebody special. Somebody who would rock Heroland’s world if they went after him themselves. This is likely his brother that he trained with.

His siblings are in there too? Come on, discuss the file, it's just you guys, right?

Interesting. They're not saying "OMG Burk is dangerous!", more like "This individual named Burk is connected to someone very dangerous."

Who is Burk connected to?

I think Burk mentioned having a brother early on (though it was so long ago that I'm not sure). Would said relative be the reson Burk has a file? Since they're talking about (the absense of) a clause about defending relatives of certain individuals.

Alternatively, Burk has a hypothesized connection to the Oceanic Cartel via his mother mentioned in the early Pirate of the Storm arc. If I recall correctly, he mentions his mother wore their logo on her apron.

Something like that, anyway. He also has at least one sibling, but I forget whether it was a brother or sister.

So playing with what-ifs, #24 could refer to an agreement with the Oceanic Cartel not to interfere with certain members including his mother/brother/sister, and our loquacious hero could here be referring to how that didn't explicitly protect Burk.

But it's probably something else.

To be fair to Sporf, Heroman was, clearly erroneously as this is a meeting of white star heroes, labeled a gold star on that very page when it was first posted. Nice to see Neorice fixed the error.

@Baprr to be fair to Sporf (and me lol, I still thought he was gold star) I'm sure that page used to say "gold star hero" and got fixed after people noticed and pointed it out in the comments

@Melany: Perhaps "demans" specifically refer to dickish demands. That is, demands akin to the glans. =P

@Sporf, @Baprr: interesting, it's quite rare that neorice reuploads images, usually he leaves in typos and other such minor mistakes. I guess correcting "gold star" to "white star" was important enough in this case.

It did say "gold star" when originally published, you can even see comments about it in the page's thread. I had missed it was updated to white star since I don't reread recent comics.

I believe, the apron indicates that one of Burk's parents holds some position in the cartel. In simplest case his mother could be a bloodthirsty pirate, who needs an apron to personally butcher her prisoners. Or it could be a red herring, and she's just a lowly maid. Or it could be a double subversion, and while the mother is unimportant, the father is a cartel executive.

And in APTGG there were two scenes, when Burk and Sunny said similar things several pages apart (111-112 and 123): "How many people does it take to beat a mage? ... One. ... Anyone who understands. The power that is humanity." and "I'm a man who's fascinated with the struggle of humanity". They could be related or know each other well. Shortly before that Burk mentioned his level-headed brother.
