Eh, I think it's misleading for them to say they've never assisted when we've already seen their advice be useful to Burk for dodging.

Then again, we don't know if Burk's esper powers enable a lot of his dodging, since they border on autopilot/super instinct. It's not possible for all his instant reads to be because of shoulder spirit advice.

By "never once assisted in fights" I assume they mean directly granting him their powers, in a vein similar to how Evyle can use powers of various spirits she has collected. Their assistance is likely limited to just providing information and advice.

Why is everyone mistaking "telling him something" for "assisting him"? They're pretty clearly talking about helping him fight by granting him power, not just talking to him. They even say in this comic that they've just given him suggestions at most.

@Everyone - I think what the shoulder Burks are implying here is that the advice on 2447 was completely immaterial. It didn’t materially help Burk. He WOULD have been just as unscathed from Sky Stroke’s surprise attack. They basically just asked him to not do it the cool way, and instead do it the funny way.

Which is both significantly more terrifying and entirely on brand for Burk.
