So, a)Burk has the Sight (we have to see if he's an Esper, a pretty Ghoul or something else from the Global Order) b)Burk can touch spirits allegedly

It's true, Burk is very funny. Buuuuut, it's usually to US, the readers, not the people he decide needs a beating.

Vonesperda on the verge of discovering that laws of Spirit doen't apply to Burk in 4...3...2...1...

She won't be laughing for long...
37345: Some guy - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 4:08 AM
How is Vonesperda actually pronunced?
My knowledge of German and Spanish wants me to call her Von Esperda the whole time.
37346: Author's Note - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 4:20 AM
@Some Guy
It'd sound something like that, actually.
37347: Paintr - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 4:40 AM
Esperda is the act of waiting, or anticipation according to google.
Von is of or from.
So if you combine the German and Spanish meaning her name means From waiting or Of anticipation.
Or maybe, The result of planning. Which would be fitting for such a long term planner.

Burk is all out of bubblegum..
37349: Tom - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 8:18 AM
I'm guessing a few exchanges before Burk one-hit-KOs the baddie.
37350: Rose - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 8:31 AM
I was wondering about her name too.
As a Portuguese speaker I force myself to read the word "esper" in the middle, like von'ESper-da because if I read according to Portuguese rules it sounds a bit funny.
I'm kind of hoping it's a meaninful name!
And I still think Burk is different , maybe Burk-o-Vision is a modified version of the sight.
37351: tailiu - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 9:12 AM
@Ahriman: Does he? He says sure sure in an uncertain way when Vonesperda mentioning it. It sounds like he does not have it.
37352: player_03 - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 9:46 AM
Classic. Burk has no idea what she's talking about, but goes along with it anyway.
37353: TheMegax - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 10:32 AM
Ahh so he does have the Sight? Okay, so he is quite likely to be an Esper.
I mean, we don't know of anybody that has the Sight and is not an Esper... right?
I have the feeling I'm going to be proven wrong, sooner or later
37354: TaranAlvein - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 10:48 AM
@Paintr - It could also just be some nonsense built around the word "Esper". I sometimes make names like that.
37355: Sloss - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 11:12 AM
he's not funny, he's burk
37356: SleepyKamo - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 12:52 PM
If it sounds like a villain, looks like a villain and acts like a villain. Chances are it's going to get punched in the face.
37357: Anthony - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 2:19 PM
@TheMegax: tobi can see spirits and isn't an esper. We know Burk has abilities that resemble esper abilities, but they might be something different or have a different origin.
37358: Melany - Saturday, June 17 2023 - 2:38 PM
@talliu:
Vonney probably wouldn't be mentioning the sight if regular people could see her; since Burk is responding at all, he does have some form of spirit sight. Whether it's esper-sight or some other method unique to him, though...

@Paintr
Von is "of" or "from" in the sense of "related to/originating in". So it would be more "of Wait" or "from Anticipation, Florida".
Use in names is actually a relic from when there were still German nobles, as it was one of the lowest titles you could have and generally non-heritable (equivalent to the British 'Sir'). Consequently, there's thousands of "von X" nowadays.
