I wonder if the guards ever alleviate their boredom, guarding a doorway to a forbidden library at a place that obviously isn't seeing much traffic, by reading some books from the nearby room.

Seeing as he had to tell the guards right that moment to let his guests through, I'm guessing he only tells them things on a need-to-know-this-exact-moment basis?

I find it odd that half of the visitors show weird grid patterns instead of faces in their hoods.

I imagine they're iron masks or helmets.
