Not even a real magic user.

I honestly expected her to grab the golden duck thing.

11648: Flangan - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 12:36 AM

Ohhhh i see now.
that golden bird on the jugde WAD a real one once.

but our "Midas" might have made a slightly change to it.

Items that give you badass magic? Damn, that's crazy :O

But can Ariara use it as well?

11650: verycoolname - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 12:55 AM

The judge is being too quiet, I'm guessing a certain Pirate is about to make a fatal error... Like wearing a magical artifact without knowing how it works.

At the very least if I was a super powerful Mage King I would have power granting items like that rigged up so they killed anyone who tried without permission.

11651: Brilliand - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 1:24 AM

Ultimate power for Ariara? Burk can still take her!

On a related note, this means Ariara now has access to all three forms of magic... and we can expect her to use all three regularly.

u got to give him credit his expression dosent change even being controled.

11653: Esper - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 3:46 AM

Are you pulling a fullmetal alchemist beginning here, Neo?

11654: Neoriceisgood - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 4:19 AM

@Esper

Probably not as I'm not sure what you're referencing.

11655: Tom - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 4:59 AM

Oh shit, I just realized something by going back to the page showcasing the 3 high priests of the Mage King: the other 2 ALSO have magic-giving amulets.

Damn, Neo, dat attention to detail.

11656: re_cur - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 6:44 AM

@Esper

So in your view, the Mage King is Father, and the Priests are like Homunculi? Otherwise I have no clue what you mean either.

11657: MJBarr - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 7:06 AM

Bravely bravely run away!

11658: iceiceice - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 12:07 PM

So, ball's in Moe's court now?

11659: Saiko - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 1:13 PM

So, is someone telling Moe what's going on here? Because apparently he won't act without this knowledge.

11660: YearsLate - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 5:29 PM

Well, the tables sure turned quickly enough. But... I mean just like we said about him penning her in. "That can't be it, right?" Why would you give a person with no powers of their own a powerful amulet like that? Hmm..

11661: charliebone - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 5:45 PM

@Tom: not only do the three high priests have an amulet ( http://www.neorice.com/hoh_525) but if you look at the Mage King's relatives (http://www.neorice.com/hoh_520) one of them, not Ludwig, has one as well. In fact, checking other Ludwig panels I don't see him with it anywhere. I wonder if he is a natural?

11662: Scarred Wrable - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 11:02 PM

I find it hard to believe that someone as experienced and powerful as the judge wouldn't research a spell that could be used while paralyzed especially since he has all the resources of the mage king at his disposal

11663: Goblin Scribe - Wednesday, January 18 2017 - 11:42 PM

There's no guarantee she can use the amulet, of course. After all, she's no Priest. Maybe it requires a special connection.

We shall see.

@Esper
@Neoriceisgood
@re_cur
I believe Esper is commenting on the opening sequence of both Fullmetal Alchemist series, in Leyore, where the priest has a "philosopher's stone" that gives him immense alchemical (read:magic) power but disintegrates when it's taken from him. He's subsequently entirely powerless, and the Elric brothers have no immediate boost.
