It was never specified within the comic that her mechanical arm gave her the metal control power.

Huh, after her arm got busted, Ariara told Iron that she'd have been screwed due to losing her arm if the fight hadn't just ended. But, that new attack of hers looks like one of the most powerful yet.

It'd have been funny to have a magic window into Iron's head. He's had a crazy day so far! Murder mystery, prison breaks, magical pirate, exhibitionist (Burk) streaks through a castle then beats him up, gets taken prisoner himself, gets shoved by the exhibitionist after said exhibitionist identities himself as a little blond girl... and that's just so far!

If her mechanical arm was not the source of her power, why was it locked in a metal case ?
It's a powerful weapon that does something else, which we may not have seen yet ?

Her techno arm thing was some sort of damage dampener (probably shields her from magic attacks.) Her control over metal is all her own.

hm...could it be her blood that she uses to magnetize stuff? Maybe her arm served to dispense it efficiently and safely before it got busted?

I think it's because she'd kept the arm as a sort of get-out-of-jail-free card - after losing that attack-absorb ability to the giant pillar of doom light, she wouldn't have been able to take much more of the Judge's attacks. The new attack is because she's clearly acquired as much metal as she possibly could around her in case a very powerful little blond girl were to show up to save the judge. Now we just have to see if it was enough to stop the little blond girl named BURK.

@5, @Neoriceisgood - I think this is more about her arm being under control - it seemed implied that it was in the same state as an average human's broken arm, aka basically useless until repaired. But now she's waving it around willy-nilly. Guess that whole going limp thing was just a temporary overload situation :)

The arm isn't useful anymore (not a glowy void thing). But it is still an arm.
