Epilogue: Pudu.

A brave and noble whistleblower.

43930: MaZe - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 12:25 AM

He has to be the most slimey hero there, like damn he really think he gonna survive snitching?

43931: Tor - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 12:44 AM

Oh thats just hilarious xD
Pudu will blow the lid on this entire affair.

43932: Lord_Incaros - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 12:49 AM

The diplomat she tried to assassinate. And will likely report the attempt. She doesn't really get the concept of"consequences" does she?

43933: Soup - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 12:55 AM

Knows pudu, he probably would have still done this even if the assassination had succeeded

43934: Montresor - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 1:09 AM

Almost impressed by his commitment to the bag.

43935: Saiko - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 1:34 AM

Noble indeed. A paragon of virtue likes of which is hard to find among the heroes of Heroland.

Question, how does Pudu know about the cover up, not being one of the white stars? Or is he a double agent, working for (more or less) secret services of both entities?

43936: someone - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 1:48 AM

Well, there goes that avenue of stopping things. Heroland can't catch a break even from the guys technically on their side.

43937: Sporf - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 2:00 AM

@Saiko. He doesn't know, but since he did know about the assassination attempt it's not a big leap to the idea that they wouldn't want knowledge of the attempt getting out.

43938: Sporf - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 2:01 AM

As for his part in the attempt. I'm guessing he's hoping to be at that villa on the coast long before that heat hits and then he's out of site out of mind for blame.

43939: Ghost - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 2:35 AM

In someway you have to admire (admittedly often in sure bloody horror) pudu and his sheer utter commitment to making money no matter the consequences (including to himself for been a greedy arrogant goit). How he hasn't ended up in a ditch/landfill/gently resting at the bottom of a lake with lead weights tied to his limbs is the bigger mystery.

43940: Tom - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 4:07 AM

The plot has become EXTRA THICC.

43941: someone - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 4:20 AM

@Saiko: Pudu doesn't need to be one of the White Stars or a double agent or to have precognitive powers or whatever. While on page 3961 only the heroes that went against their contracts are mentioned, it's quite unlikely that the other heroes involved in the whole fiasco were left without instructions to keep shut... I bet Pudu negotiated money for that, too, despite immediately snitching about it.

We do know, for example, that on page 955 Sky-Stroke went on with the masquerade, despite the bruises to his ego and to his family jewels.

43942: Syhkane - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 5:11 AM

That's IF he's talking to an actual broker and not a plant put there by Heroland specifically because they know what kind of person he is.

43943: Zed - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 5:43 AM

Didn't the shader in charge of leading Pudu & Pablo to the location of "execution" literally narrate the fake tragic scenario that was about to occur? He basically announced it was being covered up.

43944: Silver - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 5:57 AM

Of course! Of course this happened! I mean I suspect that he'd do this even if everything had gone smoothly. Pudu knew too much. If Dolk wanted to get rid of loose ends Pudu could really use a vacation. That, and I think he has a pathological suicidal need for money.

43945: Violet - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 6:46 AM

Pablo is definitely going to remember that Pudu is the one who tried to do that. Might be awkward if it ever comes up.

43946: - - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 7:21 AM

Pudu is my favorite character.
If he dies, I might stop reading.

43947: Some guy - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 9:06 AM

@Saiko
Well, how would they cover it up without in some way telling Pudu to not inform others about it? Pudu was personally present for it.

Pudu is naturally aware of the coverup because they're necessarily part of it.

43949: Ayee - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 11:47 AM

Finally something heroic from pudu! :D

43950: Diju - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 12:38 PM

I’m curious, do you think Pudu was Dolks connection to Illuani, after all since he has connections to Livaria and he’s greedy I can see him robbing trade routes with Illuani

43956: Tor - Sunday, October 6 2024 - 1:52 AM

I dont think Pudu was doing actual robbing. I suspect the risk/reward ratio is much better in hero work.

Pudu is by all account a greedy coward. Not going to take needless risks of losing his extremely well paying hero job for the pennies robbing random people would bring.

43959: Sporf - Monday, October 7 2024 - 12:58 AM

@Zed Trying to make get the diplomat to have an 'accident' isn't the cover up Pudu is talking about. The accident was something Dolk tried to do to cover up his crimes. The cover up Pudu is talking about now, is the actual company heads attempting to cover up that Dolk tried to assassinate the diplomat to cover up is crimes. It's a new layer of cover up.

"Hey, let's not do anything about the rampant corruption in our ranks. What could go wrong?"
