THREAT TO HEROLAND INTEGRITY.

So the competition is a ... tie then?

Honorable mention to Piper for being the runner up in a contest she didn't know she was participating in.

btw: new vote incentive up on top webcomics!

Couldn't the diplomat be handled the same way as the Piper and the mage kingdom? His people up and leaving would be just as bad as the Mage kingdom. Why not talk to whoever sent him in the same way as the Iron Judge? Or is it only because the Iron Judge already knows, that makes Piper untouchable? They likely don't know that the Iron Judge himself is particularly vulnerable right now.

I love how Guy managed to remain inconspicuous despite everything. He's a true professional indeed.

43868: SFrip - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 12:19 AM

Ah, yes, Burk, the undeniable instigator and mastermind.

43869: Anthony - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 12:21 AM

Ah yes, Burk the diabolical mastermind. Something that has been obvious in every scene we've ever seen him in.

43870: Welf - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 1:19 AM

I wonder if they ever find out that Guy is an agent of a foreign, hostile power. Ad that he might work for one of Garrimon's supporters.

43871: Tom - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 1:54 AM

Burk is a big threat, but not for the reasons they think.

43872: random - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 2:48 AM

It is always sad to see this comic not being in the top 10 on TWC where it truly belongs. Although this day and age that position might not mean anything. Still, this new vote incentive might rectify that, even if for only a month!

And I think they overestimate Burk's dangerousness, at least in the sense of his motives. He is like a bear, if you don't disturb it, it won't harm you...

Which reminds me on a joke:
"All that does not kill you, makes you stronger. Well, except for bears. They will definitely kill you."

43873: someone - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 3:50 AM

It's impressive how wrong they are about everything.

Like how they think sweeping things under the rug when they're being investigated will be how they prevent damage.

Or how they think they need to prevent a diplomat from contacting political figures. Do they even know what a diplomat is?

43874: Silver - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 4:42 AM

It's not a real tie! Burk's background is more reddish and Sky Chaser's eyes are even more shadowy when talking about him, which means he's a bigger threat!

43876: Violet - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 10:27 AM

If I recall correctly, Guy wanted Pablo to help him with that mysterious eldritch duo. Golden Midas Guy and Transforming Ginger-Beard. So in theory, they shouldn't be pursuing attacks against Heroland right away? Unless they're secretly connected, or some kind of mix-up happens along the way.

Or both.

43877: Deliverance - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 11:41 AM

@Neoriceisgood

Sky Chaser in the vote incentive states the information is confident. Surely he means it is confidential.

43878: Melany - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 11:43 AM

@Violet

The danger is that they are now heading back to Livarall, where Pablo will try to report to his superiours and damage the relationship between Livarall and Heroland.

One thing I'm confused about is why Piper is still with them. Her goal was just to help uncover the conspiracy, which they've more or less accomplished, and I don't think she has any reason to travel to Livarall rather than just packing up and going home.

43880: RandomFan - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 2:32 PM

I mean, it is the case that the pigs are somehow connected to heroland, so they're probably correct to expect another Burk incident eventually... But somehow, I think they've got all the stars in reverse order.

Guy, who is a fucking spy, and who has no inclination to keep combat nonlethal, is the biggest threat. He's much more inclined to leak the info to hostile parties, who are, in turn, more inclined to weaponize it.

Followed by Pablo because their attempts to keep him quiet will only emphasize his situation. Piper at 4-stars is pretty accurate, and if their cleanups weren't prone to failing she probably would be the biggest threat.

Behind those, Evyle doesn't even want to think about Heroland, and Burke is going to cause chaos wherever he is - but he's leaving heroland territory imminently.

43881: someone - Tuesday, October 1 2024 - 10:37 PM

It's pretty funny they're talking about threats to Heroland integrity after they've demonstrated that Heroland has no integrity in the first place.

43888: Sporf - Wednesday, October 2 2024 - 11:02 AM

@RandomFan. That's still something I want to know about. What was up with the pigs and the shaders being bandits? And the ghoul that Evyle had helped defeat initially and was being experimented on. I'm guessing the ghoul is how they beefed up the pigs, but still, what was the purpose?

43892: Some guy - Wednesday, October 2 2024 - 6:27 PM

@Deliverance
Whether it was supposed to be that, it actually does make sense. Confident informations means they're reasonably sure it is accurate.

43954: Leo - Saturday, October 5 2024 - 11:57 PM

@Sporf

The pigs in the Eddstadt arc are the same pigs as in the Resthill arc. So presumably these bandits were actually conspiracy-shaders (because there was a shader uniform found in the bandit outpost). The bandit scheme was apparently run by the executives of Eddstadt, or at least paying bribes to them.
