Well, that's half of Burk's handicap gone. Once the painting is gone as well, h can finally go all out.

I don't think Burk's "uh-oh" is about the heroes behind him. Who could that be? The Mage Baron? The Aristocrat? A robot? A robot enlisted by the Aristocrat? Ariara, somehow?

I suspect Morty's unconscious floppyness helped them endure all of this.
42862: Baprr - Monday, July 29 2024 - 2:05 AM
@someone Burk didn't care about Morty's body even a little bit so far, he's received a possibility lethal amount of whiplash already.
42863: Eight - Monday, July 29 2024 - 2:50 AM
Morty flying right to the... right, whatever there might be.
42864: K - Monday, July 29 2024 - 3:40 AM
Burk could be looking at Morty. Ooor he could be looking at whatever made hero lady give wide eyes of shock.
Either way, it’s funny to me how much these heroes believe they have more of a chance now that he has both hands free.
42865: Some guy - Monday, July 29 2024 - 3:44 AM
Hm, something that concerns Burk happening offscreen? Now things get curious.

Surprisingly few people commenting about Burk's "Uh oh". I'm guessing something to do with Evyle and Vonesperda given they're right outside Mastermind? We can see a little bit of whoever it is on the very right of the first panel but it doesn't look familiar to me.
Nameless blue girl is the closest to whatever is concerning everyone and I suspect her projected lifespan from this point might be just one page.

@Gobo
A ghoul with a hero-killing "quest", that conveniently happened to be in wooden crates stored in that burning building?
The reaction of the blue hero doesn't fit that idea, though. It looks like she's walking toward the newcomer. Not what I'd expect from someone who just saw a ghoul.

@Gobo, don't you remember Evyle?
42869: Violet - Monday, July 29 2024 - 6:05 AM
I like how the hammer guy is the very first one to attack. Dude was absolutely ready to go.

Blue Girl is totally walking towards whatever just appeared. So it's not a threat to her at the very least. And Burk's "uh-oh" is totally directed at whatever just appeared off-screen on the right. Damn that's one hell of a cliffhanger!
42871: Melany - Monday, July 29 2024 - 8:13 AM
Burk's "uh-oh" might just be directed at the fact that Morty is apparently flying past the lasso hero and is on a collision course with the pavement, which stands a pretty good chance of killing him. Now I don't believe Pablo ever stated he wants him alive, but even Burk can probably assume it was implied.

At first I was thinking Burk's 'uh-oh' was for losing Morty. He's clearly a little worn down from fighting Vonsperda and the heroes and I think he's not as certain of his ability to fight all these guys. But looking at his face in the final panel, he look genuinely scared there. Even fighting a losing battle doesn't scare Burk like that. It's definitely Evyle, the front door of the mastermind building is open in the first panel and what has walked out scares Burk.
42873: Baprr - Monday, July 29 2024 - 12:42 PM
Burk's "uh-oh" is directed at Morty, an important witness that Pablo needs, and who's body was just stolen. I don't think anyone but the blue hero noticed the person to the right.

Oh hi there Ciel, nice to see you.

NOT THE PAINTING!
Due to his hostage being taken away, the painting is likely going to be destroyed in the crossfire. Honestly, at this point I feel like Burk kept Morty for far longer than he normally would have, simply because his presence made it easier to protect the painting.
Morty was already a simp, now he's whipped, too.
