Until they realise Burk is not what they thought he is, i imagine.

@some guy it depends on what they expect to happen in an hour. It might not be magic user related.

Then again Burk should very much be less than an hour away. Minutes I would think.

Is there a secret weapon being deployed, or did I forget a character that can challenge Burk?

I assume that's whatever Burk will be fighting after Morty. Or they expect something to happen to him, because of who they believe he is.

It was mentioned that this kerfuffle will likely attract reinforcements from all over. Perhaps some particularly powerful hero is making their way to Eddstart.

is it about the contract burk signed?

Maybe Logan Alexander is coming? I'm expecting him to show up again eventually.

It also occurs to me that mot everyone here is aware of everything going on. Most of the exec's here seem unaware of the total issues, Nightshade was aware of the talking cat. But seemed to think Evyle was more involved than she was. Basically I hope we get a run down of how many levels the conspiracy has.

Given the chapter's title, guessing that Burk'll have time to duel the esper's assistant there.
Makes sense for the city-level executives to call out for bigger guns if threatened. Guess that leaves two so-far-disclosed groups: the "white star heroes" and the "black star heroes".
Seems like the executives' apparent preference for social-relationships maintained by mutual blackmail might lean them toward asking black-star heroes for help. But then again, it's been previously explained (https://www.neorice.com/hoh_burk_1380) that white-star rookies, like some of those Burk's been fighting, are the "eyes and ears" of the white-star heroes, so.. it'd be weird if those rookies didn't also call out for white-star reinforcements.
