Absolutely brilliant.

Oops forgot to update today, here you go.

22368: Agent Cook - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 6:58 AM

All right! Burk finely using his brain cells here

22369: TGWMoC - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 7:56 AM

See, it's moments like this that show how sharp Burk actually is.

22370: someone - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 8:34 AM

the blue devil is revealed as the braincell

22371: Deliverance - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 8:39 AM

Let's hope that the challenged doesn't get to choose the contest.

22372: Presence - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 10:14 AM

There's an old trope of people becoming friends after fighting. I know it won't likely happen, but it'd be pretty hilarious if a gambling based equivalent of that trope took place here.

Burk is like a classic trickster: He's not conventionally smart, but he sometimes says or does things that imply that he's got a scathing wit, is surprisingly perceptive and knows a lot more than he lets on, yet despite this you seldom know just how on-the-ball he really is, but you also can't help but feel like that's exactly the way he wants you to feel about him... So the question remains, Burk, are we really going to see something "absolutely brilliant" or is it going to be something absolutely bonkers?

22374: Some guy - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 10:53 AM

So either Burk gets to go free or Goldman learns absolutely nothing. Brilliant.

22375: Betzevim - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 11:32 AM

Ooh, and assuming he isn't a heroland operative then even if he loses he hasn't actually lost anything

22376: Liack - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 12:13 PM

@Agent Cook : don't you mean his brawl cells :P

22377: Zed - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 2:30 PM

The best part is, Heroland gave him zero instructions, so this is a win-win for Burk.

22378: Chon Waen - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 4:33 PM

Absolutely brilliant or absolutely bonkers? The answer to that is obvious: Yes!!!

22379: Keinname - Tuesday, June 23 2020 - 8:33 PM

I think that the "zero chance hero" will pick a contest that Burk should have no way of winning, maybe even a quiz.
Then again, it's been some time since the last fight scene.

Anyone remember/know how Burk would know Goldman is a gambler? Or is this just a lucky guess

22381: Deliverance - Wednesday, June 24 2020 - 1:13 AM

@Zed and @Some guy. We don't know that. Burk has *some* relationship with the Heroland top, after all, since we know that Heroland has 803/803 files on Burk that are classified to be accessible to the top only. It may be that that relationship is just that they have knowledge of him and have investigated him in detail, or have fought him, or perhaps they created his powers and now he's running loose, or whatever have you, but it is also possible that he has instructions.

22383: Centaur - Wednesday, June 24 2020 - 3:59 AM

Okay, last time @Greatsword suggested that the two shoulder-whatevers are both Chaotic, but this new strip reveals more evidence of the blue one being Lawful Evil. What better alignment to suggest an idea that lets you do what you want while technically keeping the letter of your promise?

22403: Some guy - Thursday, June 25 2020 - 9:38 AM

@Deliverance

He only answers questions truthfully. If Goldman has no way of asking the right questions, he will still learn nothing.

Also, truthfully does not mean "usefully".
