That punch should be so easy to dodge.
But I can totally see Burk grabbing her staff, kicking her off of it, then giving it back to her while she admits he won.

Burk used Hi-Jump Kick.

Sudden agility boost, or did he leap at the top of one of the trees, bending it backwards, and allowed it to catapault him right into Pipers smugness. C'mon Burk!

I'm having a hard time deciding if "Brave Escape" or "Sudden Burk" is the better effect. I think I will go with Brave Escape.
@anonymous coward
Well in Noah's arc it states that a magic user can go toe-to-toe with their master soldiers.
Assuming Piper hasn't met a non-magic user that can compete, much less beat, a magic user, it makes sense that she'd be over-confident to the point of letting her guard down.
It might be a cliche, but not unreasonable in the slightest.

That laugh has completely changed my internal Piper voice...
If Burk hits, will the sound effect be "Sudden Burk'd"?

@Candor Zofain
Respectfully disagree: If people were that bad at focusing on what they were doing, automobile roadways would be impossible to use safely because everybody would be crashing every five minutes (or less!) when their attention wandered. Yes, too many people do get hurt or killed each year from exactly that problem in automobile accidents, but it isn't nearly so many as that.

Lol, sudden bjork
Clearly he used the wheelbarrow shovel trick
This dosent look like a normal burk face. This looks like a "serious" Burk face
Dive, dive, dive! Damn authorial fiat idiot ball, I should've realized Piper is carrying one of those if she would even get in this fight in the first place. If Piper loses because she's too stupid to pay attention to the fight she hasn't won yet in favour of gloating about winning that would be idiotic, but not outside the realm of embarrassingly-overused, literary clichés.
C'mon Burk that's what I like to see
BURK FTW!
@Bisected it's super effective!
underestimate Burk at your own peril.
