@Chillas Someone correctly deduced last page (and Neorice confirmed) that the gold in the crown protected the red jewel from becoming gold
@Mystik It slowly stopped being red after the rock man transformation. You can see it happen panel to panal in http://www.neorice.com/hoh_894
But the red has been gradually going down on each page

It's made of gold, so it didn't get affected by his magic.
Random theory/observation:
Burk is known for two things. His unmitigated strength, and his killer instinct. He went against both the Judge and Ariara, whom he accurately observed as being quite strong. He was wary of them, but not afraid to fight them. This is the first time he's shown actual hesitation in attacking something that is quite obviously "evil".
Either he knows something nobody else does about the Ginger Thing, or his instinct is literally flaring up to an eleventy. A guess might be that he's being like this to protect the judge, but he hid up there before knowing that the judge was in specific danger.

Mystik, the room stopped being red when Ariara put a girder through his gut. I figure that the red glow may have just been a temporary side effect of his transformation. That, or something he did for intimidation but lost focus when he was surprised and couldn't be bothered to put it up again.
