That was both Shalhia and Jay-Jay's secret - assuming none of the other rules are duplicated, at least one of them is dead.
Shalhia might still be alive, being considerably far from the explosion and having good defensive powers. Jay-Jay's odds of survival are pretty much zero, at this point.

To my memory, duplicate secrets were never ruled out. It is assumed that Shalhia and Jay-Jay have identical secrets because they were supposed to share the same spot, but Smile has never stated or implied that every secret is different.

Their lives being connected was Jay-Jay's own theory, so we don't know much about whether or not it's true, how it'd work, or what someone's chances would be of avoiding death by lost partner.
What we do know is that Jay-Jay had the same secret, and got exploded directly in the face.

Of course, another consideration that's relevant because of the ghoul is that - this doesn't confirm either of them are actually dead...
Just that the GMs believe they are, or believe they have disqualified themselves. (Such as, for example, if Jay Jay got levin with the dynamite after all.) Of course, that probably does mean they are - but if the GMs don't have remote kill-switches in everyone, then "left the game" might not immediately translate to "killed".
(Every character we've seen killed was on the podium of the execution election at the time.)
...pfft, I just realized. It's definitely *not* what happened here, but when someone actually makes it out, *they'll have left the game!* The announcement will trigger!
