No they are not!

So... how many ideas can you come up with that are something _different_ from the world ending?

Isn't it GOOD to have no more prophecies of doom? Doesn't that mean that doom won't happen anymore?
Who's writing the prophecies, anyway?

Props to you Neoriceisgood, I don't think there's any lore of any book-series or movies, shows or games I've seen that comes close to how amazing this comic feels. The powers, the lore, the characters, challenges. Literally nothing I could dislike. Maybe it's because we never know the full picture.

@Tom I'm pretty sure the fact that there are no more prophecies past that year imply that there's some kind of impending "end of the world" tier event coming up soon.

@Tom It would be hilarious if the doom prophecies coming to an end just implied "the guy writing all these doom prophecies died of old age".

Perhaps the reason the prophecies are not more is the world is simply to unrecognizable for the prophet to understand.
That's better than everyone dying anyway.

I mean, the likely reason that one Mayan calendar that supposedly predicted the end of the world ended when it did was because that it had to end sometime. It just happened to be 2012. So technically, unless these books are constantly being produced by someone/thing, there has to be and final date in them. (Or I guess they could be magical and update through that which would invalidate the whole argument.)

But it is not only 0 prophecies thereafter, but 200 for the last (?!) year, where there were 80 in the decades before. So, something is happening in that year.

Maybe the prophecy magic reaches critical mass and implodes?
44448: Darius Drake - Tuesday, November 12 2024 - 11:03 PM
Well, there's other options that explain only one prophecy beyond 2376. Magic being lost, or the world is destroyed. Sufficient change for Prophecy Magic to stop working, be it in the world, the magic, or something else. The world's calendar is reset, making the year 2377 also year 1, with the only notable part associated with 2377 being that the calendars were reset to year 1.
And, of course, the world ends in 2377. But that's unlikely, as he didn't outright state that the last prophecy is in 2377, just that it's after 2376.

Well it was hinted several times that the world is in some kind of time loop. Burk falling from the sky, Noahs island encounter.
