@Neoriceisgood: Typo in the first frame (lots should say lost).
43910: Ghost - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:00 AM
Always nice to see someone spreading the good word of the honkmother.
43911: someone - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:00 AM
So you can drive people crazy, but ONLY if everyone's not already hearing it constantly? That's the opposite of how things work in real life, thank god
43912: WhiteValyrian - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:02 AM
Is it really lots of potency or lost of potency?
43913: RandomFan - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:11 AM
I wonder if HONK translates to a death threat. Probably not. (Either it translates to multiple, or it doesn't translate to any.)
43914: Tnoz - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:23 AM
Wait, the big rock guy didn't get an intro card.
43915: Silver - Friday, October 4 2024 - 1:29 AM
So prophecies cause madness? Nice bit of worldbuilding to learn about thanks to the actions of Buster the Bastard, clown and heir of the founder of Heroland.
Btw there's a typo on the first panel: Lots -> Lost. I got confused at first because I read that the prophecy has lots of potency and it seemed to contradict what was said next.

OMG, that eye on Heroman!

if homestuck taught me anything, it's that the fanatical beliefs of fictional juggalos are 100% actionable in a super disturbing way.
incidentally, ghouls are almost always in a cheery/jovial mood. guess it could be a religion of turning people into dead meat puppets?
43918: Tom - Friday, October 4 2024 - 3:01 AM
Reciting prophecy can cause magic madness?
Has this been mentioned before?
43919: Inquisitive Lurker - Friday, October 4 2024 - 3:14 AM
I don't know what to feel about Sky Chaser.
On one hand I don't trust him. On the other hand. Considering how eccentric most of the White Stars seem to be having to work with them must be exhausting for him.
43920: Sporf - Friday, October 4 2024 - 3:14 AM
So, prophecy is dangerous? Interesting. I wonder how that works and why it's that way at all. Seems if even reciting prophecy could cause madness, then prophets would be nearly useless and unwanted. How would prophecy even spread?
43921: bruudwin - Friday, October 4 2024 - 3:16 AM
lots = lost? :D
and that clown! XD what a twist!
43922: J - Friday, October 4 2024 - 4:53 AM
Was "Lots of Potency" meant to be "lost it's potency"?
43923: Purekaos - Friday, October 4 2024 - 7:03 AM
Quick check for panel #1- 'Lost' it's potency perhaps?
43924: Some guy - Friday, October 4 2024 - 7:52 AM
I get the feeling this isn't the first time.

Ah yes, HONK, the universal clown code.

@Sporf
I'm going to make a guess about the nature of prophecy. It's probably some type of pandemonium magic...like a magic compulsion that causes those that are aware of it to try and make it come true, possibly even subconsciously. Its magic so its still limited by the power of the prophet so the more that are influenced by it the weaker it gets until it is so widespread it has nearly no impact at all.

I have a feeling that all meetings of this collective body end in similar manner.

"Are you a man or a woman?"
"I'm a clown."
"Ok, but what's in your pants?"
"Rubber chicken, whoopee cushion, squirting flower bouquet, 3 banana custard pies, 7 balloon animals, umbrella, deck of cards, 24 meters of tied-together napkins, harmonica, a spare change of XXL shoes, Groucho Marx nose and glasses, zippo lighter, exploding cigars, a candle that's lit in both ends, Buster Keaton DVDs, Blåhaj & his plush friends, face masks, party popper--"
"What are your pronouns?!"
"Well, I prefer He/He/Ho/Ho/Ha/Ha... I just want you to be happy, okay?"
