Now now, the ghoul's goal isn't to slay the heroes in their tower, it's to slay the _evil_ heroes in their tower. I'm sure all the good heroes in the tower will be fine.

According to Shalhia, you can destroy a ghoul's body normally, but it will just respawn somewhere. We don't know what exactly is required to CONTAIN one... but unless the hero team is very close to the tower, the execs are in big trouble.

Ghouls have strong regeneration, and can respawn. My guess is that the tube and the crate were impeding it, but with the crate burned up in the Mastermind building, the ghoul was free to grow a new body and go on it's merry way. Or maybe it just died there and respawned already.
