Burk the tenacious.

Burk be Burkin'.

42152: someone - Friday, June 7 2024 - 12:33 AM

Well, of course. He has a painting to rescue.

42153: noname - Friday, June 7 2024 - 12:40 AM

Well, he does kinda have his hands full at the moment, so I suppose that makes sense...

Hmm, so one of the heroes in the 3rd panel is wearing a helmet identical to Kaizer's. An underling or associate like Muntiacini is to Pudu perhaps?

42154: random - Friday, June 7 2024 - 1:18 AM

They have not learned yet that it is not a proper fight until Burk wants it to be one...

42155: Kabarakh - Thursday, June 6 2024 - 7:13 PM

is that a Hollow Knight hero?

42156: Brownie24128 - Friday, June 7 2024 - 2:51 AM

@noname

According to page 3814 that is a Herotech Shader in the third panel. It seems as shaders get more powerful they get both more armor and authority, and Kaiser is probably in the highest rank a Shader can reach.

42157: BisectedBrioche - Friday, June 7 2024 - 4:17 AM

Hey there, Ultraviolent!

42158: Zed - Friday, June 7 2024 - 5:33 AM

@noname

Rabbit hero works under the shark riding guy we saw earlier, they debuted in a patreon comic.

Honestly, at this point, I'm kinda curious as to what comes AFTER Burk puts his bandanna on. Though, given his characterization so far, sheer numbers should never push him that far, and the hero drop gives nothing new except sheer numbers.

42160: Sporf - Friday, June 7 2024 - 6:14 AM

Yeah, I'm guessing Kaiser and this guy are the 'elite' shaders mentioned earlier. Kaiser might be the head shader or something then.

42161: Sporf - Friday, June 7 2024 - 6:24 AM

Oops nvm what I said. 'Elites' just get a bandana. Brownie is right, this is probably a 'Herotech' shader which presumably is tougher than 'elites'. I am sad we didn't get much fight action out of shark guy and obviously evil lady.

42162: Silver - Friday, June 7 2024 - 6:37 AM

What's that shader hoping to achieve by doing that multikick thing 2 meters away from Burk?

42163: simplybecause - Friday, June 7 2024 - 7:05 AM

Can the hero in the white mask pogo off of enemies?

42164: Storm - Friday, June 7 2024 - 9:16 AM

@Silver:

Guess there're a few ways to interpret that scene! Guesses:

1. That shader was trying to kick Burk at that spot within that shader's reflex-time (so the shader hasn't yet noticed that Burk's already long dodged it) -- though the other two are lagging behind Burk less (probably speedier?).

2. That shader's doing a fast flying-kick and, rather than trying to time a precise kick (especially against a speedy opponent), they're just kicking as fast as they can.

3. It's some sort of special "spirit technique" that requires completion and the shader's locked into it.

4. That shader realizes that he can't actually fight Burk, so they're just trying to look busy.

42165: Silver - Friday, June 7 2024 - 10:29 AM

@Storm

I think it's #1 but I hope it's #4 :P

42166: player_03 - Friday, June 7 2024 - 11:22 AM

@simplybecause Ultraviolent Carbohydrate (the one in the bunny mask) is basically just a spirit user. There might have been something about getting energy by eating sweets, but mainly, she's fast. Berry Cool (the shark rider and her mentor) thinks even white star heroes would have trouble dealing with her speed.

42167: Saiko - Friday, June 7 2024 - 12:34 PM

@Silver

Maybe they all are recreating some scenes from Hong Kong movies, where the fighters are often basically showing off (or it seems to be the only reason for their moves).

Though I'm inclined to agree with Storm's option number one - that Burk just dodged them all.
