What does Held see at the left, why is Valiant bleeding again, and why do they use neither the universal translator nor a nice Translate spell?

I love how impatient Held looks there as she walks around frustrated.

Held seems to be splitting her time between staring at Valiant and squinting at Jasper.

Held surely sees that Jasper is stuffing his face as usual, and worries if there will be enough of these dinosaur legs left for them to eat.
