I read the name first as a shortcut for nil humanity. It's an alien species with its own agenda.
For this reason whatever it concocts it should be used first on an unsuspecting volunteer, i.e. Jasper, just to be on the safe side.

As a brazilian, I have to give another spelling using the local phonetics: Ni-lyah (Corn is pronounced mi-lyoh over here). Or maybe Nil-ha (Nil as in null, ha as in a-ha!)
My pronunciation guesses:

2 - Neel-ya.
