I would almost feel sorry for the guy...
If he didn't already shown that his personality is horrible and that he is fine with hurting people by proxy.
Even his distaste for direct fighting seems to stem more from realization that he is weakling who is liable to ge his butt kicked if he were to encounter a legitimately strong opponent way more then him some kind of being pacifist.
